Dear Attendees,

It is our pleasure to announce the 22nd GAZTERM Conference to be held in Międzyzdroje, Poland, on 6-9 May 2019.
For the 22nd time, we are pleased to organise the conference which is considered to be a prestigious event in the gas sector and one of the most important forums supporting the exchange of experience among representatives of gas, heat and electricity sectors. It is also a major venue for the presentation of new technical and technological developments in the energy industry. For over 20 years, our conference has attracted experts and representatives of the gas, heat and power sectors, scholars and manufacturers of equipment used in the gas and power industries.

The last year's 21st Gazterm Conference attracted over 400 attendees who had an opportunity to listen to more than 20 speeches and presentations on gas cooperation between the USA and members of the Three Seas Initiative, energy security, role of the gas exchange, liberalisation of the gas market and new consumer-oriented strategies.

Bearing in mind the international character of the GAZTERM Conference, during the 2019 edition we want to pay particular attention to the issue of natural gas in the Baltic Sea basin. We believe that this region has an immense potential for cooperation, especially between the countries located on its northern and southern coasts. Undoubtedly, The Baltic Sea holds, and will continue to hold, a strategic importance not only for the development of Polish gas market, but also for other Central and Eastern European countries. After all, it is through these waters that a new gas corridor will reach Poland, with supplies coming from various independent sources. The enterprise is determined by the Northern Gate project, which enters its crucial phase of implementation. In parallel, we are witnessing an intensive integration of neighbouring markets: Danish and Swedish as well as Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian and Finnish. In the near future, Poland is set to gain a direct connection with them as a result of transmission infrastructure which is being built. Countries in our region are, therefore, facing an enormous opportunity to create a safe Baltic market area. Consequently, the Conference organisers have decided that the leading event of GAZTERM 2019 will be the Baltic Gas

Summit. Our goal is to invite the representatives of governments and gas companies from the Baltic region.

We primarily hope to stimulate a discussion on the directions, areas and prospects for the cooperation between gas markets in the Baltic Sea basin. We intend to invite the representatives of the European and American gas markets to give Gazterm 2019 a stronger international dimension. While selecting topics for the Conference, we put much emphasis on issues related to environmental protection and the use of natural gas as the most environmentally friendly fuel used in the energy sector.

The organisers intend to make every effort to maintain the high ranking of GAZTERM, which translates into providing attendees top class services and proceedings of the conference. The guarantor of the above is the Lower Silesia Institute for Energy Studies, the Theme Conference Partner. For many years, the Main Partner of the GAZTERM Conference is Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo S.A.
